The Population and Global Health Committee (PGHC) is continuing to uphold its theme through these resolutions
2025 Resolution 62: In support of increased awareness of the benefits of global nursing outreach for nursing students.
2025 Resolution 33: Promoting nurses' mental health and teaching healthy habits to enhance work quality and well-being.
2025 Resolution 25: Addressing the impact of housing instability on children's growth and development.
Quarterly Themes 2025-2026
Mental Health Advocate Award (Fall) ( Sept – Oct – Nov- 2025) - given to a student nurse who has made a major contribution when it comes to advocating and raising awareness about mental health resources in their own community. The student will provide tangible resources that demonstrates more accessible mental health resources. (Submit by December 15, 2025)
Application Method: Picture Essay that demonstrate more accessible mental health resources. A minimum of 300 words.
Prize Amount: $100
Stellar Advisor Award (Winter) (Dec 2025 - Jan 2026- Feb 2026) - The Stellar Advisor Award is given to a school SNA advisor who exemplified undivided support to the mission and vision of the PGHC committee and the organization as a whole. The Stellar Advisor Award aims to recognize a mentor who encourages SNA PGHC activities within their school chapter. (Submit by March 15, 2026)
Application Method: Picture Essay with a minimum of 300 words.
Prize Amount: $100
Health Equity Champion Award (Spring) (March -April -May 2026) - this award is given to a student who stepped out of their comfort zone to provide manpower to advocacies that they are passionate about. The Community Engagement Service Award recognizes the student who is socially involved in the community and was able to contribute to its success. Applicants for this award must present proof of community engagement (such as photos) and a short essay describing what the project/event is all about and how they contributed tomaking the event/project successful to qualify for the award (Submit by June 15, 2026)
Application Method: Picture Essay with a minimum of 300 words.

Global Nursing Impact Award (Summer) (June – July - August 2026)
This is an award or recognition that honors a student for their outstanding efforts and contributions to mitigating and addressing climate change in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. This distinction is typically awarded to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in environmental stewardship and have made a significant impact on promoting a greener and more sustainable world. Recipients of the Green Climate Leadership Distinction are recognized for their commitment to:
- Reducing Carbon Emissions: They have taken proactive steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote clean energy, and adopt environmentally friendly practices in their operations.
- Sustainable Innovation: They have contributed to the development and implementation of innovative solutions and technologies that help combat climate change and protect the environment.
- Advocacy and Education: They have played a pivotal role in raising awareness about climate change and advocating for policies and actions that address environmental challenges.
- Conservation and Preservation: They have actively engaged in projects and initiatives aimed at conserving natural resources, protecting ecosystems, and preserving biodiversity.
- Community and Global Impact: They have made a positive impact at local, national, or global levels by inspiring others to act and leading by example in the fight against climate change.
The Green Climate Leadership Distinction serves as both recognition and encouragement, highlighting and celebrating the achievements of individuals and organizations that are dedicated to creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly future for the planet. It also aims to inspire others to follow in their footsteps and become leaders in the global effort to combat climate change. (Submit by September 15, 2026)
Application Method: Picture Essay that focuses on their contribution as climate ambassadors. A minimum of 300 words to describe the efforts and contribution geared towards having a more sustainable eco-lifestyle.
